yes, i'm a season behind, but here is the fingers crossed wrap of spring/summer 2010...
only the stand-outs
autumn/winter to follow...

gucci
accessories were the standout for me, updated mega sunnies and slightly tweaked platform heels from last season
sophisticated use of hardware ensures the body-con maxi dresses stay true to the classic Gucci style.

givenchy
a little bit sass&bide or is sass&bide a little bit givenchy?
residing from melbourne, i'm loving the monochrome colour pallette with the added use of stripes, abstract zig zags and the same pattern translated into contemporary lace
add a chunky black platform = 2010

stella mccartney
classic mccartney styling...that's why we love her
she always manages to make me want to wear white, a relaxed tailored blazer or red wedges

dolce & gabbana
dont usually dig D&G, however this time they have included some form of X-factor that i can't quite work out. maybe i'm falling more in love with lace by the day...maybe its the exquisite rose patterns used...maybe i'm getting old...or its the socks with heels
either way, i'm in love
balmain
although they have not featured in my spring/summer feature, the balmain shoulder was still evident
this is a conscious decision (notice my justifying tone) in the hope that they will not kill the shoulder by doing them in the same way next season. quit while you're ahead
nice to see an over-shirt replacement and leather detailing
not keen on the boots but the black compliments the khaki colourings and completes the military look.
valentino
who would have thought you could do so much with a ruffle? lucky valentino doesn't have a fabric budget
as seen on Chloe Sevigny at the Golden Globes earlier this year (style crush)
highlight here was not even the dresses though...it was the shoes (see "want what i can't have" post)
burberry prorsum
pastels are back! not that they suit my complexion (i sound like my mother) but i appreciate good use of the sorbet colour palette and commend anyone that can pull it off.
wish list: purple trench, plait shoes, skinny legs
marc by marc jacobs
notice the marc jacobs range did not feature? that's because marc by marc jacobs sh@t all over it...
mixed prints, bright knits and cheeky bows...how could you go past the playful tucked in tee with a high waisted skirt?
moschino
a wee bit chanel? oh well, nice use of gold and a youthful take of the tweed skirt suit with pearls
ann demeulemeester
i think ann demeulemeester lived in melbourne in a past life
black, leather and chains has become her signature
along with masculine looking models and androgynous styling
giles
again accessories and styling are the key to giles' range
wish list; sunglasses, coloured hair and a baby rhino bag
etro
back on the raider...stay tuned
miu miu
again, the diffusion line of prada has featured over its superior
has a real 70's feel to it with 7/8 slim pants, cut-out bodice's and mixed prints
versace
don't generally support donatella, but she used colour perfectly this range
loving the sunglasses but apparel just has a little bit too much of that vasace skank to it for me
karl lagerfeld
edgy for karl but will be a classic for the spring/summer season.
proenza schouler
this range has already been raped across the blogs, mags and runway reports...probably because its amazing!
also, i believe this range is the fuel behind and surge of surf/fashion themed editorials with their clever use of colour, tight-up-top styling and accessories
also another victim of the coloured hair trend but i won't hold it against them due to their outstanding sunglasses and shoes
dkny
never usually a fan of donna's creations but this season see's her backing this common occurring theme of mixed prints and stripes.
essentially she has used one type of floral and one stripe, however she has created depth to her range of playing with tones of colour, print sizes and adding sequins while still maintaining some of her classic styling and tailoring
maybe having a first name as a last name is not so bad
giambattista valli
only outfit worthy of reporting on from the whole range, but they have hit the nail on the head here...love
emporio armani
oh georgio! can't go past a spot and his use of them in this range and guaranteed his diffusion line a place in the running over its parent label georgio armani
