Parents are paranoid and I dislike traveling with paranoid people. What have a signed up for here? I’m looking forward to the wedding, spending time with my cousin and seeing Germany again, however I am not looking forward to sitting in a car with 9 family members, plus luggage, on the opposite side of the road with everyone trying to play navigator when we have a satellite navigation in the car...
Half of the deaf, the other half are blind and most are eligible for a senior citizens card. It was nice in theory to spend a few weeks with my parents before starting my adventure in Paris on my own, but I’ve been here for one hour and already thinking I’ll need a holiday prior to gay Paris.
I appreciate the effort that has gone into planning, prioritizing and paying for this european wine tour, but no doubt offense will be taken if God forbid I decide to depart from the scheduled touring prematurely.
Do you think they will notice if I don’t join them on the journey to Belgium and skip off to France early? Do you think French customs will notice I have entered the country before my Visa begins too? If they are anywhere near as lax as the German customs officers, I’ll be able to stay until I’m eligible for a senior citizens card too.
I’ve learnt to be lax too this year, following my lady of leisure lifestyle for the past 3 months, I’m going to continue the trend and take everything as it comes. Let the geriatrics argue about which “ausfarht” to take. Let them speak 5 decibels higher than they need to be because they refuse to wear hearing aids. And let them ask 5 hundred questions when the signs are self explanatory and I’ve been here at least 3 times before.
Don’t get me wrong, I appreciate sharing their first european experience with them and it’s my own fault for thinking it would be any different. So I’m saying my hail mary’s and sticking to my new laid back resolution. I’m a different Flea now, in fact call me Felicitation.
