Stella McCartney is back on board

“I know it’s the worst kept secret here in Sydney,” said managing director Launa Inman last night at an exclusive event held to announce Target’s next international designer collection. Guests had gathered at Point Piper’s Altona waterfront property to find out who the next big name would be and those still in the dark were surprised to hear the announcement thatStella McCartney would once again be collaborating with the brand.

“The first designer introduced to our business was Stella McCartney and it was an absolutely unprecedented success. As a consequence, we realised that we really had something that was a winner,” said Inman. “The value and the style is quite incredible…under normal circumstances to be able to have something like that you would probably have to pay around $2000. Instead you can come to Target and you will be paying anything from $20 up to the absolute maximum of only $299 for the most wonderful product.”

This time around McCartney has whipped up asummer collection of 42 pieces, set to create a fashion frenzy when it drops into store on October 29. For those who can recall the madness that ensued after doors were flung open to the first range three years ago, brace yourselves, as this one is twice as nice. All the McCartney boxes have been ticked – lace dresses, pencil-thin trousers, silk blouses and a particularly sexy pair of wide leg jeans – and there’ll be more than a few fans leaping over racks for the tuxedo wrap dress in black or cream.
